We did not follow these directions as my husband printed off directions from Mapquest.

Everything was fantastic, The accomodation was just amazing, the way it had been decorated was lovely. Very Very clean. We got a basket of food on arrival, some wine and olive oil which was very nice, it really set us up for our stay for the week.
Definitly go back again.

I would describe the property as somewhere I could have moved into, it was just lovely. We even had a dishwasher.

The outside was better than expected, unfortunately the appartment itse;f had no outside looking windows, which was dissapointing.

Very childfriendly, shaded, relaxed environment. Good location for seeing all the important sites in both Tuscany and Umbria. Nice atmosphere, very friendly people.

We were very pleased to be welcome by an italian (only) speaking older woman. She was such a warm person... my daughter simply adored her from the start! She showed us the place around and gave us some details about the weather. We exchanged a few italian words and manage to understand each other. It was a great start for our vacation.

Although we were expecting a nice property, we were actually surprised to see that the place was much better than what we expected. The accommodation was furnished with everything we needed and the rooms were very spacious. We were very pleased with the accommodation, the exterior of the property as well as its location.

Very friendly couple, they even have prepared brochures etc. for the most important things to know (alimentari, restaurants etc.) Food basket and all the kitchen things (salt, oil, etc.) could last weeks!

Everything what you need is available w/o any extra costs. Towels, linen, kitchen stuff like salt, oil, vinegar etc. you don't need to bring anything from home!!!
Only a bit negative thing might be that the Chiesana flat that is very close to a very small street next to the house (used by locals late at night). windows are not noise proof at all.

I'd say the Chiesana flat is best deal (for 2 persons) of all 3 flats in the house: our 2+2person flat (sleeping room, kitchen with sofa, bathroom) was almost half of price of the bigger ones 4+2 (1 extra sleeping room) as they calculate people not square meters. On flat has even A/C (2 floors, under the roof but no real windows). An all our rooms had windows!

We got a little lost but got their in the end we had a friendly welcome

On arrival we were met by a representative from the owner she showed us around our accommodation. There was a much greatly appreciated welcome pack which we were not expecting, thank you. The owners mother who didn't speak any English spoke to use when ever she saw us and we tried to communicate with our little Italian and signs! we greatly enjoyed her company we now refer to her as our 'Italian mother' when we tell people about our Tuscany visit. (our Italian needs much work on). We greatly appreciate her company as well as the families cat as we are cat lovers we enjoyed it great character with it flat face and pink nose and feet.
The owner visited us the day after our welcome and appogised for not welcoming us and to check that we were okay. While we were staying it was my wife's birthday after spending a day out travelling around Tuscany she was greeted with a card and a little present Thank you.
We can say that we had a lovely time and highly recommend this accommodation. We will be returning next year.

WHAT CAN I SAY BUT FANTASTIC.MY SON HAD TO GO TO HOSPITAL ,THEY TOOK US THE HOSPITAL AND STAYED WITH US AS WE HAD LIMITED ITALIAN THEN TOOK ME BACK THE NEXT MORNING.I CANT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS FAMILY BUT LOVELY HONEST & GENIUNE.MANY THANKS JON

Wonderful reception by la senora, she spoke no english which made the experience even better. Her homemade cooking and smiles and welcoming package made us feel very welcome and instantly at home. We arrived late on a Saturday afternoon.

Fabulous accomodation, great off season prices. Wonderful countryside. Lovely family that run La Spiga d'Oro. Francesca speaks fluent English. All questions always answered.

Organized, friendly, very helpful. Juan Carlo made phone calls to the car rental agency which helped us as we speak very very limited Italian.

I forgot to check with Juan Carlo but the phone #'s we had did not work and we couldn't reach them prior to our arrival. Can't remember where we got the phone #'s, I think off the web site.

We've already recommended it to friends (in Canada and Italy). Very peaceful (in October), so friendly, we felt like part of the family. We were given fresh eggs, grapes or some baked good every day. Very generous. I wish we had had something from Canada to give in return.

The owners were out and the elderly grandmother welcomed us and showed us to our appartment. She could not speak English. This did not worry us. She was a lovely lady.

We were happy with the appartment the only downside was that it had no windows in the living area and kitchen. In the main bedroom that was huge, it only had a roof window. It had plenty of space and was clean.

We would stay again, and were sorry to leave. The owner and his wife were so friendy they made us feel totally at home. We had fresh eggs and olive oil. The welcome pack included everything. We wanted to visit a war grave, my wife'e uncle. The owner drove us to the site, so we could find it easily. Super guy.

Beautiful quiet area; the 'real' Tuscany unlike 'Chiantishire'; few English tourists.

Maybe a good idea to mention that the swimming pool is not heated (and thus still a bit 'cold' at the end of May)? Whirlpool was not as 'hot' as I would have expected it either.
