My stay at Il Barlanzone was truly enjoyable.
The location was ideal and everyone in the
town of Montalcino is charming and friendly.
Simone and his staff, in particular, were
helpful and generous with their time and
insight about travel to surrounding areas and,
of course, the amazing brunello wines in the
region. I'd go back again and again.

I don't remember if the web site mentioned
the stairs. We are in good shape, but if
someone had difficulty with stairs, there
are three flights to walk up.

Small and nice hotel, with a homelike atmosphere. Very central and good possibilities for car parking near by.
Friendly and helpful people, with a good english language in the reception.

Terrace on the top floor is amazing!

Girl working on the reception (which is also an enoteca) and the owner are very helpful regarding the wines and wineries in the area. They organized for us a couple of visits to wineries in Montalcino, and it was very nice.

We arrived extremely late due to transportation availability, and Simone was waiting for us when we got there, despite the fact that it was clearly past his business hours.

Simone is one of the things that Il Barlanzone really has going for it. He is friendly, eager to help, speaks perfect English (a plus for us), and is happy to put a personal touch on your stay. The apartment on the 4th floor is beautiful and has a truly spectacular view. We recently returned from traveling for 5 months, and Il Barlanzone was the highlight of our trip in terms of accomodations.

The view from the 4th floor balcony is truly a spectacle, and the friendliness that Simone brings to his hotel and his wine shop make it a must-visit for any trip to Montalcino.

Anja met us upon arrival, what a great lady! No problems whatsoever. Il Barlanzone was everything plus more than we expected.

An extremely beautiful town and Il Barlanzone was in a superb location for not only touring around Tuscany, but to sit back and enjoy a wine from Simone's enoteca and people watch! Simone's mum does all the cleaning and the rooms are spotless. Everyone was really helpful, and all spoke great English, which was good for us.

Montalcino is absolutely beautiful. Il Barlanzone is fantastic, it is set in a great location across from the fort. We had a car parking spot just across the road. The room had good views, we didn't really want to leave. We will stay again if and when we return.

As before: Super service and support. Help if needed regarding the local facilities etc.
Only one more comment: All equipment etc. is so fine, but the refrigerator is too small and poor.

We have already done: Il Barlanzone is a very nice place to spend a holiday, with a wonderfull view from the terrace, friendly people and in our favorite town, with good restaurants, good tuscan food and excellent wine.

Due to problems with our rail travel, we were 1 day late and they were very accommodating. They did not charge us for the night we missed.

The accommodations were wonderful and memorable. The staff made us feel so at home. They were helpful with all of our inquiries and had many suggestions about the local attractions. Semone and his mother were the perfect hosts.

Semone was kind enough to arrange for a hotel for us in Florence prior to our departure.

Their attention to detail and their help with translations and assistance at any time made it a pleasurable experience.

This was a lovely spot and represented good value for money. The room was spotless and Simone and his staff were always pleasant and helpful. The room was quiet and all the places we needed were within a few minutes stroll. No breakfast is provided but there is an excellent cafe one minute away.

Thoroughly recommended. A room without breakfast as described but right in the town so breakfast was easy. There is a Coop store for all your needs and excellent restaurant serving good Tuscan food.

we,of course, got lost, but when we called thankfully someone was able to speak English and told us exactly how to get there.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a great view and it was quiet.

We checked out the night before we left,so all we had to do in the morning was leave the key in the door. That was very accomadating to us.

We appriciated our stay very much and will most likely come back some time in the future. The owner Simone was a nice aquaintance to make.

The website was very clear that breakfest was not included. In order to guide new guest it could be worthwile to mention that several bars provide breakfest at reasonable prices. The closest bar is only 30 m away.

Nice small family hotel with only a couple of rooms. No breakfest and no other services, just a good place to sleep if you can manage the rest on your own. Total cost for room and breakfest lower than at other, larger and mayby more fashionable hotels in the vicinity. Very friendly and service-minded owner, Simone.

It was stated on the web site that there would be a hair dryer in the room, which there wasn't. However, when I asked for one, they provided it. Also, it was stated that there would be an internet connection on the property, which there wasn't.
