No hassle qucik and room was ready at 10:30 as promised.

I was a bit leary of staying here based on the comments I read. I'm not sure where the peope who rated the hotel stayed but it was certainly not the same hotel that I stayed in. The location is excellent - 3 blocks from the Spainish Steps. THe price was very reasonable. The hotel is one of those old large Roman Hotel that was in its prime back in 'La Dolce Vita' time and still has that ambiance. The hotel overall is quite nice and very clean.
The room for two was hugh, clean, well lighted. The furniture was in good repair. The bed was comfortable and the pillows soft.
The bathroom quite large and immaculate. The only downside is there was no shower curtain which I have found common in European Hotels.
The towels were soft and quite large. There is a phone jack for the computer. TV had CNN and a number of European stations.
The buffet breakfast - included in the room price was great large variety of food.
There was also a large lounge to read in.
For the price it was a great stay. Close to everything. I will certainly go back.

They offered 'no smoking' rooms, which I requested, but it appeared that all rooms allowed smoking (there were ashtrays in my room and no smoke detector).

It was OK, but did look and appear better on the website. Some of the paintwork and furniture was old and the breakfast was very ordinary.

The hotel was OK, but expensive for what it actually offered. I have had much better value-for-money in other big cities across Europe. I have concluded that Rome is very expensive for hotels and the Hotel King is OK, but has the same high prices - hence, not good value-for-money.

Positive - the Reception staff spoke very good English.
Negative - they do not have genuine 'non-smoking' rooms.

Room was small compared to every previous hotel we've stayed in.
What did'nt help was that we were allocated a room next to the lift shaft and the whole wall vibrated every time the lift was used.
We complained but were informed no other rooms were available.I also warned reception that our door handle was about to fall off which was ignored by the so called handyman. And yes the handle did come off and could not be repaired correctly.

I don't remember the hotel bar being open at all.

our room was right next to the utility closet. in the morning, around 8:30 am, we noticed that the cleaning staff was getting ready to work because they slammed that door at least 100 times! that's the only thing that we didn't like.

Very well situated, you can walk to most of the main attractions. Friendly atmosphere, good clean accomadation. I would go again or recommend it to a friend. I felt it represented good value.

It is hard to find all those small hotels in Rome, while they do not have big reception hals,.... But generaly while you go to Rome in sense to see the city and the rest what Rome can show, hotel itself is not most important part.

For Italy (Rome 3* are less then 3* somewhere else. But as mentioned good enogh, while we are not there to be in hotel whole day.

Hotel is close to metro and all urban bus lines so you can get everywhere from hotel steps.
Receptionist are all the time ready to suggest you how to reach desired places and where to find best places to have fun or quiet place in the evening.
near by there are spanish steps and nice evenings can be spent in close by area.

We found that some of the rooms had been renovated and some hadn't. The rooms were a good size and very clean. They were very agreeable about moving us to another room as we wanted a shower, not a bath with the handheld shower!

The checkout was very efficient. We had ordered a car and it was there on time.

It was a fabulous location, up the street were the Spanish Steps and within a 10 minutes walk to the Trevi Fountain. A safe area. Close to the subway.

My room did not have a safe working (the key had been lost) and rather than offer to change my room it was suggested that i leave my valuables in reception. I think that i should have been offered a room with a working safe.

Nothing to do with you, but we weren't impressed with the TeraVision bus service from Ciampinio airport to Termini station: Unnecessarily rude and difficult and they drop you off in a cluster of minicabs with no directions to the proper taxi-rank!

As expected accommodation - basically fine in a great location and pretty quiet too for Rome. Reception staff were charming. Included breakfast was ample but not very exciting, waitress staff were pretty charmless and the breakfast area was too small to accommodate many people at one go. Quite a long walk to our rooms from the lift (via more stairs and another lift) but well signposted. Our two rooms were rather further apart than we would have liked for a family of 2 adults and 3 children - approx 25 metres, but overall a good overall experience and a great base to explore.

Like many 'period' city hotels - a bit quirky and a little faded but friendly/helpful reception staff, filling but basic breakfast, beds comfortable, functional en-suites and reasonable sized rooms.

The staff upon arrival were very helpful with the local area directions. We had to return our rental car upon arrival and staff were helpful with directins to Avis, and avoided delays with book in as there was no where to park at the hotel.

We found teh King Hotel fairly good. The room interior was spacious enough, but a bit aged and worn. The location was very good, however, a bit noisy from the street, and some noise from the next room on one night. Overall - good value, and staff very good.

We had an early flight and staff were helpful in arranging taxi (although he charged a few Euros more than what I was told was a fixed price - 50 Euros). Also packed a breakfast for us to take (although we don't normally have cakes for beakfast).

We were transported to the Hotel King from the airport by transportation arranged by Hotel King. That worked very well. We had done a similar service elsewhere and that service was added to our room tab. In this case, the driver was hired by Hotel King and required payment by us at time of service. That was slightly confusing and it would help to have that communicated upfront.

I was a bit disappointed with the room.I have stayed in another hotel many times in Rome and have always been amazed by how clean it is. My sister suffers from allergies and did there (the rooms were either mouldy or dusty).

I think the location is great but I wouldn't book again here as I have stayed in other hotels that are a bit further away but much cleaner (I expected a lot more for 40 more per night in comparison).

I am sorry to say that the place is going down, we wre going there for the past four years and every eayr is getting worst, the room is never ready, the breakfast terrace is full of birds all over the table can not ejoy the breakfast.We are sorry to see this change we love the place, hope they will do some improvement.

We liked the location but we didnīt like the hotel itself. It needs urgent renovation. The images on the website showed a nice lobby but it was actually decaying. The bathroom needs complete renovation mainy the toilet which is very old fashioned.

I would say that Hotel King is an old, not comfortable hotel in Rome in spite of the interesting location. For the same price or better I think we could have had more comfort.
I would not recommend this hotel.

The room as such was too expensive but the location is great. As an overall experience it is maybe a bit too expensive.
It was great that the hotel could keep our bags during the entire check out day without any extra cost.

In general, our stay at the Hotel King was a good one, however, most of the women morning breakfast servers seemed unhappy about serving the guests. They were not as polite as others in the hotel.

The Hotel is much closer to the Spanish Steps and Piazza Barbarini then expected. It is much more conveniently located than we thought from reading the description on the web site.

Location and staff were excellent. Bedrooms were fine. The towels were huge - terrific for the larger figure, and very unusual! The breakfast was poor - watery orange juice, about two croissants between all the guests, pre-cut bread which was a bit stale and stewed coffee. But overall the friendliness of the staff, the good location, and a lift for our elderly parents made it a very good choice for our trip.
You should advertise how near you are to the taxi rank on Piazza Barberini. I didn't realise how big an issue this would be, while I had checked out lifts i hadn't checked this out with two elderly people in our party. You might mention this on your website.

It was terrific you had your own taxi service to the airport. It was very reasonably priced for four people. he also brought us on a tour of the Aventine en route (at no extra charge) and gave us a magicv last view of Rome. Well done!
