The breakfest=little poor.
If you get the room to the canal it is
very nice to see the boat from the room.

Paul was very, very helpful on arrival and gave my wife and myself great information on the tram system and all stores and resturants in the local area. The accommidations were far beyond our expectations. We had a wonderful stay and hope we can get back to Amsterdam and of course stay with Paul and Karen at the B&B Amsterdam. Thank You

The directions were very clear and the owner was exceptionally hepful. Found that having to have the right money for ticket machines and also finding a telephone in the station that worked was a problem after a delayed journey. Suggest that you take a taxi from the airport - we did on the way back and found it not too expensive and avoided all the hassle.

Delighted with the accommodation as it had recently been refurbished, but felt that the standard would have been as high whenver you visited. Very well thought out and the location - out of central Amsterdam - near the park and the canal was ideal. The owners were charming and helpful.

As our flight was later in the evening, there was no problem at leaving our bags at the B&B.

Took a couple of days to get used to the layout of the city. Much bigger than we thought it was.
More specific information about the forms of transport would be useful. Information re day passes and the fact that the canal bus was on three different routes and you had to walk from one canal to another would have been useful before we arrived. Well worth getting a day pass.
Tram routes were very clear and very punctual.

If you are looking for B&B accommodation of a high standard (the linen/bathroom/kitchen were lovely)and didn't want to stay in the very busy centre of Amsterdam, would like to sit outside in the evening on the canal with a glass of wine - you could do no better.
Will definitely be back.

Make it clear this is not a bed and breakfast. The breakfast provided was very minimal (milk and cereal).

Situated on a beautifl canal near a pedestrian foot bridge. Close to Vongel park outside of the hustle and bustle of the downtown core of Amsterdam.

Question one does not apply to me since I was born in Amsterdam and know the area.

Proprietor met us at arrival showed us around the property and and pointed out the location of all the things we needed. Phone/intercom was available at all times if we needed assistance with anything.

Since we left very early in the morning there was no need for check-out staff.
Value for money was in line with other properties in the area.

Very clean and quiet place with personal touches. Close to many restaurants. Not a place for a hearty breakfast since only cereals are provided.

It was a wonderful experience, although our B&B wanted us to 'call' them from the station. We had emailed them as to the time we would be arriving and felt that it was not necessary to call them. We were tired after our train journey and we wasted 1/2 hour in the train station trying to call them - the phones would not work and we had to drag our luggage to find another pay phone that would work. The agreement was for a canal room for both nights and we only got it for one night - apparently there was a misunderstanding. The owner, Paul was very kind about it, and the place is big and clean. It was really a wonderful place and if we return to Amsterdam we will definitely come to the same B&B!

include that you need to be called upon arrival - it was inconvenient trying to figure out how to call local numbers (we are not locals, we are tourists from another country).

WE had booked two beds - a double and a single and only one double was set up. They did not knwo that two were booked although the price was for the two beds and they pulled out a further bed and made it up so it was fine in the end

The property was difficult to find and the taxi driver actually went round in circles and left us a long way fron the property as he could not find it. So we walked around and found it eventually

kitchen facilities were very good although shared. Free phone available for taxis etc
The TV was old and flashed between colour and black and white which was unnerving

Homely and generally comfortable, nice location at the end of the park with a pub next door and canal view. Half hour walk or short tram drive to the main centre which was fine
